My wide-ranging research background and areas of expertise include: using storytelling & media-making to foster anti-racist & identity work; advocating for media literacy, digital literacy, and internet/social media best practices for young people; and supporting schools in strengthening communication, culture, and trust between parents, teachers and staff.

I am currently the post-doc research fellow at the Klingenstein Center at Teachers College, Columbia University. My work is situated at the intersections of critical identity studies, youth literacy/ies practices, and multimodal composition.

I’m also an adjunct professor at NYU’s School of Professional Studies and at Teachers College, Columbia University.

I hold an Ed.D. in Communication & Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and an MS.Ed in Education, Culture & Society from the University of Pennsylvania.
